Our story

Falorni Glass Furnaces: the value of customization since 1958

The history of Falorni Gianfranco Srl is the story of a family that, for three generations of dedication, has enhanced a business philosophy that finds in the passion for glass its signature. It was Gianfranco Falorni who founded the core of a family-run company that today has two divisions, one for the artistic glass ( Falorni Glass Furnaces ) and one for the industrial sector ( Falornitech) both active worldwide

The Company was established in Empoli (southwest of Florence, Tuscany) in 1958: the Empoli region was a glass-manufacturing site and it is thought that glass production in Empoli began during the 13th century, with the creation of “Verde” glassware. The typical green coloured glass was a consequence of the mineral content of the local sand, which was used in the creation of much glassware in the region consisted in everyday objects, bottles, flasks, decanters and glass items used for dining.

The Company is leader in the manufacturing of continuous and discontinuos furnaces with pre-heated air/natural gas and with oxygen/natural gas, for the production of soda-lime glass, lead crystal, borosilicate and special glass. All the furnaces are handmade and tailored on the glass maker needs: you will never have a furnace like another one because every furnace is unique. Falorni Glass Furnaces have been building more of 250 furnaces and all of them are still in operation all over the world.

Starting from a counseling service, Falorni Glass Furnaces provides consultancy, design and ‘turn-key’ solutions for glasswork and glass studio: in addition of melting furnace, it can be provided equipment, raw materials etc.
